The AOAEX evaluates the following criteria:

• The type of online course offered by the institution and the degree(s) for which it is applicable
  
  
  
• Each degree type the institution confers along with the minimum requirement of that degree
  
  
  
• Methods for enrolling students and criteria for acceptance or rejection of a student
  
  
  
• Assesses faculty members and their credentials
  
  
  
• Any ongoing legal actions involving the institution
  
  
  
• Tuition and refund policies
  
  
  
• New and planned programs and activities not yet available to students
